You know despite varsity’s loss last night and the fact that im done cheering for good at high school basketball games, what really broke my heart is seeing all of them bawling. Last night was the first time Jojo came to me first before he came to his family, he came out of the locker room and he walked towards me, my heart stopped, I had never seen him like that, or any of them. I didn’t know what to do. All of them was talking about how it was a privilege playing with each other, and were reminiscing about the first time they played together. It was heart breaking hearing and seeing all of them like that, cracked voices and swollen faces. Parents, fans, and relatives, everyone, kept telling them how they were so proud of them, and their coach said that that was the best season the school’s probably ever seen, and he’s not lying.. The varsity basketball team was undefeated, 10-0 during league and 22-4 overall. They had an amazing season, and as someone who’s been there from the beginning of this season, I can honestly say I’ve never seen a harder working group of boys, dedicated to this sport, never seen a team who wanted to win more than the other. I love you guys, and I’m so proud of all of you.
